BBC radio favourites prepare for 2011 move to the regions

BBC Radio 4 programmes including Any Questions? and The Food Programme are to move out of London as part of the BBC's efforts to beef up its production in the nations and regions. Any Questions? and sister programme Any Answers? , hosted by Jonathan Dimbleby, will move to Bristol, while The Food Programme and Food and Farming Awards shift to Birmingham. BBC Radio 7's Big Toe Books programme will relocate to Glasgow. All the shows will relocate in April next year as part of the corporation's radio supply review. The BBC's audio and music department, headed by Tim Davie , currently makes around 33% of its output outside London and this will increase to 38% by 2012, boosted by the move of BBC Radio 5 Live to Salford. BBC Wales is due to double the amount of network radio drama it produces over the next two years. • To contact the MediaGuardian news desk email [email protected] or phone 020 3353 3857.
