Buy of the day
Friday Collette the Cow hooded sweatshirt, £25, by Olive & Moss Yet again an example of the little people getting the all best clothes. Somehow a baby in a hoodie is absurdly cute. This particular jumper is supersoft (inside and out) for baby skin, the colours are pleasingly bright and best of all, the cow's ears waggle - guaranteed to have the tricky nursery crowd rolling in the aisles. The entire Olive & Moss animal print range is charming without being twee, and is perfect for presents for girls and boys. Thursday Ernesto scented candle, £50, by Cire Trudon It's a scented candle named after Che Guevara. Can I repeat that, please? A scented candle. Named after Che Guevara. But wait! It gets better! Cire Trudon was a provider of candles to Louis XIV, and another one in the range is called "Balmoral". This is a product so utterly absurd that I can't help but love it. Most disappointingly, it doesn't smell of sweaty, unshaven man covered in motorcycle oil planning the downfall of puppet regimes. Instead it's actually really nice, with notes of tobacco (of course) and cedarwood. The fact that it costs £50 only seals the deal. Bring on the revolution. Wednesday Twill raincoat, £155, by Toast Buy of the day's theme for the rest of the week may well be waterproofing. Today, a gorgeous cheery (and cherry) red raincoat from the newly revamped Toast website. It's Teflon-coated to make sure you stay snug and dry - and almost as important, it has a classic cut, a fabulous colour and I want it. Tuesday Belle & Dean organic cotton T-shirt, £15.40, from Fashion-conscience.com New York fashion week seems to be proving that fur is well and truly back. Feeling utterly depressed by this news, I've turned to the ethical fashion retailers to find a greener purchase (though in fairness, almost anything would qualify under that description). Here, then, is a lovely T-shirt I've been eyeing for a while that's now - hooray! - on sale. Organic cotton, and naturally no peacocks were harmed in the making. Monday Sheep tape measure, £3.75 by Traidcraft It's well known that tape measures will take any opportunity to escape the useful places you leave them and elope with all the odd socks and biros in your house, leaving you with one arm supporting a half-built Billy bookcase and the other flailing madly in a drawer. So here's a little (not lost) lamb to help you with your DIY. Not only is it ewesful, it's a baaargain.
