Meanwood's new North Bar gets licensing approval

Plans for a new North Bar in Meanwood have finally been approved by councillors after a bid for a license for the pub was granted. Members of the council's licensing committee this week granted North Bar's application for a license at the company's planned community pub on Stonegate Road, Meanwood. The pub will open 11am-11pm. Councillors had delayed a decision last month over approving a license following local concerns about noise and nuisance from the residents at an adjoining property and pending more information on the proposal. Planning permission was granted by the council earlier this month . Mobile drinks delivery service Meanwhile, an all-night mobile drinks delivery service in Leeds has received a license - despite the concerns of Headingley ward member James Monaghan. An application for a premises licence at Leeds Alcohol Delivery Service, Ready Steady Store, Kirkstall Road, to sell alcohol Monday to Sunday, 8pm-8am daily, was approved by councillors. But the applicant was told that he must also apply for planning permission to change the use of the premises into one that can sell alcohol off-premises. Some of Monaghan's concerns included increasing anti-social behaviour, noise and disorder. He also spoke out against the proposals here . What do you think?
