Land Registry selects open source software
The agency, which records interests in registered land in England and Wales, said that it chose the open source Talend Integration Suite because it met the requirements of initiatives for the handling of management information. A spokeswoman for the agency said that the software will "support the Land Registry's continued investment in management information and business intelligence to monitor the organisation's performance and efficiency." Steven Philips, delivery manager at Land Registry, said that maintaining concise and accurate data for business intelligence is crucial to the organisation's performance. "We needed a flexible and cost effective tool that would improve data integration and for the registry to better manage its business intelligence warehouse data," he said. According to Philips, the software will enable staff to extract data from a number of different repositories and in multiple formats to provide consistent data to measure efficiency levels.
