TV ratings: The X Factor back above 10 million viewer mark

The latest edition of The X Factor attracted almost 10.6 million viewers on ITV1 and ITV1 HD, nearly fives times the number who were watching a National Lottery special on BBC1 on Saturday, 4 September. Simon Cowell's talent show averaged 10.572 million viewers, a 47.8% share of the audience between 7.30pm and 8.45pm. ITV1 HD's share of this audience was 433,000 (2%). The X Factor was up nearly a million viewers on last week's show, which slipped to 9.781 million , a 43.5% share. The National Lottery's Big Night had 2.286 million viewers, a 10.3% share, between 7.40pm and 8.45pm on BBC1. Elsewhere, another showing of 9/11 documentary 102 Minutes That Changed America had 1.677 million viewers, a 7.9% share, between 7pm and 9pm on Channel 4, with another 311,000 viewers on Channel 4+1. The first part of BBC2's Rigoletto Live from Mantua, featuring Plácido Domingo, averaged 643,000 viewers, a 3% share, between 7.15pm and 8.30pm. Channel 5's NCIS repeat averaged 939,000 viewers, 4.4% of the audience, between 7.25pm and 8.15pm.
