More postponements hit Boxing Day sporting schedule

The Championship games at Scunthorpe and Middlesbrough this morning became the latest victims of the wintry weather. The visit of Preston to Glanford Park was postponed because of a frozen pitch. Despite being covered for the last fortnight, parts were deemed unplayable, forcing the Iron to postpone a second successive home game, following the fixture against Nottingham Forest a fortnight ago. In Scotland, the SPL game between Kilmarnock and Hearts at Rugby Park has been called off. Blackpool will inspect their pitch at noon on Boxing Day to see whether the 3pm kick-off against Liverpool can go ahead.
