Maureen Rice to stand in as Tesco magazine editor
Former Psychologies launch editor Maureen Rice is to join contract publisher Cedar Communications, initially taking on the role of editor of Tesco magazine. Rice, who left Psychologies after four years last year , takes the helm of the Tesco title while editor Dawn Alford is on maternity leave. While at Psychologies Rice won both the PPA and BSME editor of the year awards. She has also worked for Eve, InStyle, and the Mail on Sunday's You magazine. Tesco magazine, which is published six times a year, has a distribution of 2.05 million copies, making it the fourth biggest title in the UK. Rice said it "reaches a huge contingent of smart, sassy, family-orientated women who love its mix of food, personalities, relationships, family and practical advice on everything from personal finance to beauty. It's a pleasure and privilege to work on a magazine that connects with so many women". She was succeeded as editor of Psychologies by former Good Housekeeping and InStyle boss, Louise Chunn. • To contact the MediaGuardian news desk email [email protected] or phone 020 3353 3857.
