Michael Schumacher is closing in on Ferraris, says Ross Brawn

The head of the new Mercedes Formula One team thinks his No1 driver, Michael Schumacher, is getting closer to the Ferraris which dominated early testing. "At the beginning of testing it looked like Ferrari were dominant," Ross Brawn told Autosport.com after trials in Barcelona. "Now you'd have to say that the teams are all pretty close." Last year Brawn won both drivers' and constructors' championships with his own Brawn GP team, later bought out by Mercedes. But unlike in 2009 he believes his car is good but not the best. "I think we're close enough to have a go," said Brawn, "but we're not enjoying the situation we had last year. I don't think anybody is. We're just a little bit off where we want to be, but I think we're close enough to be within reach."
