Something for the weekend: Cuffs

The term "statement jewellery" has been bandied about in recent fashion seasons to describe things that are ritzy and eye-catching – something that ups an outfit's voltage. These black and gold cuffs do just that, but in their own slightly understated way. From a distance, they're a brilliantly simple flash of metal or slab of solid black; but up close, each is textured or intricately detailed. Naturally, the larger cuffs require zero wrist company while a combination of the fine thin gold Ongwat one with the black Jigsaw number could make quite the pair. Classics in waiting, every one. Clockwise from top Mock snakeskin £18, by Jigsaw . Gold textured £90, by John Lewis . Abstract £250, by Scott Wilson for Jaeger London, 0845 051 0063. Gold wing £65, by Ongwat .
