Offer now expired: Guardian Review Book Club with Margaret Drabble
Margaret Drabble will talk to John Mullan about The Millstone. First published in 1965, and set in a London not yet quite swinging, where sexual liberation is still on its way, the novel follows the progress of Rosamund Stacey, a young academic who becomes pregnant as a result of a one night stand, and must adapt to life as a single mother - finding herself transformed in the process. Hosted by John Mullan, professor of English at University College, London, the Guardian's Book Club examines a book a month, via a weekly column in the Guardian Review, a live Q&A session with the author, and a blog-discussion of the featured novel. Mullan's first three columns discuss the book in question; his final column consists of a selection of your comments from the live event and the blog.
