World Cup 2010: Gareth Barry trains with England
Gareth Barry joined in with England's first training session since arriving in South Africa. The Manchester City midfielder has not played since damaging ankle ligaments on 5 May, but took part in a light training session alongside team-mates at Royal Bafokeng Sports Campus. David Beckham, who has travelled with England in an as yet unspecified non-playing role, also took part in exercises under the guidance of Fabio Capello. Ledley King, who rarely trains with his club, Tottenham Hotspur, had sufficient faith in his fragile knees to join in with the rest of the group. David James was the only player to eschew the sesssion, opting to work in the gym.
