Vinnie Jones becomes masterspy

Superman, Batman and Spiderman can step aside: a new brand of hero is about to hit the world of comic books, and he looks a lot like Vinnie Jones. The footballer turned actor turned Celebrity Big Brother contestant is the model for international superspy Jake Noble, star of an upcoming new comic book series from established graphic novel artist Howard Chaykin. The storyline will see the violent government agent Noble working with two female agents who turn out to be his daughters by two different mothers. The comic's cover shows Jones's suit-clad character staring ahead with a quizzically raised eyebrow, drink in one hand, gun in the other, while his daughters stand at his shoulders in skintight all-in-one outfits. Another image from the series, revealed on the web , sees Noble himself in a skintight black suit, hitting out with his fists as chaos reigns around him. "Men like Vinnie because they want to be him. Women like him because they want to be with him," Chaykin, who has worked for Marvel and DC and is creator of the series American Flagg and Black Kiss, told the Times. Jones told the Hollywood Reporter that the "modern Bond style and feeling" of the project meant he "couldn't resist" getting involved. The books are intended to be the basis for a 22-part series that would mark Jones's debut as a television actor. It is being developed for television by Elevate Entertainment and Prodigy Pictures, according to the Hollywood Reporter, but has yet to find funding.
