Making readers pay online: local edition

Hold the Front Page bills it as "the latest experiment in paid-for online content", but it's a little more traditional than that: Newsquest is starting subscription-only digital editions of its Bolton News and Lancashire Telegraph , using PageSuite software. Lots of papers already do this kind of thing, of course (even us and the Telegraph ) – but it definitely makes better sense with regional titles that are hard to obtain outside their areas. Homesick Bolton expatriates will surely be happy to fork out 10p a day...
