Five things I know about style: Rebecca Adlington

1 I always dress for my body shape and through trial and error have learnt to accept that I won't suit every trend. Obviously, as a swimmer I have huge shoulders, so that whole big-shoulder look, for instance, just wasn't one for me. 2 No matter what I'm wearing I almost always wear massive heels when I go out. I own four pairs of Louboutins (you shouldn't scrimp on footwear) and nothing makes me feel both more comfortable and feminine, even if I'm in jeans. 3 It's crucial for women to dress their age. My style icons are classic contemporary actresses like Rachel Bilson and Lauren Conrad, who aren't fashion slaves. They look classy without a hint of tack and don't get their boobs out. 4 Nail polish is the best way to channel trends because you can wear a fashionable colour, such as purple, without spending a fortune on a whole new wardrobe. Plus, when purple goes out of fashion you can remove it easily. 5 I wear oversized accessories because they make me look smaller. For example, I have big hands, so I wear big bling rings, as they reduce the size of my fingers. It really works. greatswim.org
