Why British actors make great villains

Helen Mirren has appealed to Hollywood directors to stop casting British actors as villains. Isn't that similar to asking them to stop casting British actors at all? Hasn't the woman seen the unemployment figures lately? Does she want all the Hollywood villains to be Australian? Because that's what it's all about, isn't it – people being bad, but still speaking English. Anyway, who'd want to live in a world where Anthony Hopkins had never played Hannibal Lecter?
