Young interviewers wanted

Last year, young readers of Weekend magazine were asked who they would most like to interview out of anyone in the world if they had the chance, and the question they would like to put to them. And the prize was just that: the would-be reporters would get the opportunity to grill their chosen celebrity. We were inundated with some fantastic pitches , from Eliza Newman, 11, hoping to ask Miley Cyrus if popstars have to do homework, to Ruby Smith, 8, wanting to know whether Victoria Beckham's heels ever gave her blisters, but eventually this was whittled down to 11 interviews . The resulting experiment was an enlightening experience for all involved. David Cameron told James Harrington , 12, the truth about his bike being stolen; Simon Cowell confessed to Francesca Gallio , 11, that he would pick Cheryl Cole as his fantasy snog; and Chelsea footballer John Terry gave Oscar Witt a great scoop for a five-year-old when he let slip that his favourite manager had been Jose Mourinho. In fact we liked their refreshing take on interviews so much that we are going to do it all over again. So if you are aged between 4-16 and fancy your chances as the next big celebrity interviewer, we want to hear from you. Write to [email protected] with your name, age, address and the name and telephone number of a parent or guardian, and tell us who you would like to interview and the 10 questions that you would ask them.
