DJ Shadow, Friendly Fires and Sufjan Stevens have been named as headliners for this year's Brighton crawl AKA The Great Escape (12-14 May, various venues, Brighton) … While he's over here, Sufjan Stevens also takes the opportunity to tour the country (12-19 May, starting at the Royal Festival Hall, SE1) ... The festival news is starting to come thick and fast, with Kendal Calling (29-31 July, Lowther Deer Park) nabbing Chase & Status, the Cribs and Blondie … The electro-centric Beat-Herder festival (1-3 Jul, the Ribble Valley, Lancashire) boasts Simian Mobile Disco, Mylo and Mr Scruff ... Iggy & The Stooges, Echo & The Bunnymen, McFly and the Wanted all appear at the bravely eclectic Chester Rocks (1-2 Jul, Chester Racecourse) … Glasvegas and Magnetic Man head north to join headliners Kasabian, the Chemical Brothers and Paolo Nutini at Rockness (10-12 Jun, Dores, Inverness) … And finally Eminem, Rihanna and Arctic Monkeys bestride the bill at this year's V Festival (20-21 August, Weston Park, Staffordshire/ Hylands Park, Chelmsford).
