Gold on the pommel horse? Too easy for Vassos Alexander

Never let it be said that the BBC Radio 5 Live sports reporter Vassos Alexander lacks enthusiasm or sporting knowledge. But there was definitely something missing on today's breakfast show as he questioned Daniel Keatings, a gold medal winner on the pommel horse at the European Artistic Gymnastics at the weekend – the first British male athlete to win a major event at the championship, no less. Tact, possibly? "It kind of looks easy ... " he began, prompting much hilarity from Nicky Campbell and co-presenter Shelagh Fogarty. "Let me finish the question," insisted Alexander, almost entirely unruffled. Keatings's answer? "It is very difficult."
