St David's Day parade

On a sunny St David's Day in Cardiff city centre, a bustling crowd lined the streets between the Civic Centre buildings and The Hayes in honour of the patron saint for Wales. a celebration of all things Welsh. In a celebration of all things Welsh, a number of other events have taken place across the city organised by Cardiff Council and National Assembly for Wales. This weekend Queen Street was lined with stalls for the Really Welsh Food Festival, and yesterday the Royal Welsh Regiment performed a ceremonial changing of the guard outside Cardiff Castle. Tonight at Cardiff central library there will be music from Welsh 80s rock band Derec Brown a'r Racaracwyr and youth choir Côr Aelwyd y Waun Ddyfal. St David's Hall will stage its traditional St David's Day concert with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, BBC National Chorus of Wales and Youth Choruses conducted by Adrian Partington.
