Become a home tourist and experience Leeds through fresh eyes

Leeds residents are being enocouraged to view their city in a fresh light thanks to a new initiative on micro-blogging site Twitter. Using the #hometourist hashtag, residents are being encouraged to view the city of Leeds afresh from the eyes of a tourist. It's the idea of top Leeds bloggers Emma Bearman of The Culture Vulture ( @culturevultures ) and Darren Cronian from My Life in Leeds ( @mylifeinleeds ) to get Leeds people to look again at what their city has to offer. Emma told Guardian Leeds that the city had some really interesting attractions and things to do that many local people weren't aware of, even though it's often on their own doorstep. Emma's blogged about her experience of 'being a tourist in her own town' here . Darren's post gives a local's view of Leeds through a tourist's eyes . Local blogger Tessa Smith has also posted on ' home tourist '. What do you think? Have your say in the comments section below.
