TV ratings: So You Think You Can Dance audience falls by more than 1m
BBC1's So You Think You Can Dance shed more than one million viewers in its third outing, attracting 5.6 million viewers to the first of two shows on Saturday, 16 January. The dance contest, which features Arlene Phillips, Nigel Lythgoe, Sisco Gomez and Louise Redknapp, lost both viewers and audience share week on week, according to unofficial overnight figures. The programme attracted 5.6m viewers and a 24% share of audience when it aired from 6.30pm to 7.30pm, down on the 6.9 million and 27% share it managed last week when much of the UK was snowbound. The results show, which was switched with Casualty to run from 8.20pm to 8.50pm, increased its audience from last week, with 5.5 million and a 21.3% share. The previous week the results show aired at 9.45pm, managing a 5 million audience . BBC1 had a strong Saturday with Casualty proving the biggest show of the night, attracting 6 million viewers and a 23.7% share between 8.50pm and 9.40pm. The first part of BBC2's The Legacy of Lawrence of Arabia managed 1.9m viewers and a 7.3% share at 8pm. ITV1's top-rating show of the evening was All Star Mr & Mrs which attracted 5 million viewers and a 19.5% audience share between 8.30pm and 9.30pm. Earlier, at 7.30pm,dating show Take Me Out attracted 4.4m viewers and an 18% share. Over on Channel 4, Celebrity Big Brother pulled in 2.3 million viewers, a 9.4% share between 9pm and 10pm. Five's top-rating show of the evening was the second episode of the sixth series of CSI:NY, watched by 2.4 million viewers, a 10.3% share.
