ABCs: Scotsman, Herald and Sunday Herald up

The Scotsman, the Herald and Sunday Herald were the only Scottish newspapers to record a circulation rise of any description in May, according to the latest Audit Bureau of Circulations figures released today. Newsquest's Sunday Herald recorded a 9.19% year-on-year increase in circulation, and was down just 0.22% month-on-month. Its daily sister title the Herald was up a sliver on a monthly basis, 0.06%, but down 6.2% year on year. Johnston Press's the Scotsman managed a 0.72% month-on-month sales rise in May, although year-on-year sales were down 5.84%. The Sun's Scottish edition sold 339,983 copies last month, down on 344,753 copies per day in April.
