Scottish Police Services Authority seeks IT deal

The Scottish Police Services Authority (SPSA) is looking for an IT supplier to support its development of a common model for policing processes for the country's eight forces. According to a notice published in the Official Journal of the European Union on 10 March, the deal will include the recording, management and analysis of information to support the SPSA national information management programme. The notice explains that one of the aims of the programme is to develop a national model of "common end to end policing processes" for the Scottish police service. It says the core solution should be scalable, so it could be expanded to match future business requirements, and have the capability to integrate with existing and future national police IT systems. A spokeswoman for the SPSA told GGC that it was too early to give an estimate for the value of the contract. The authority was established in 2007 and provides a range of support services to the Scottish police, including extensive IT and training to more than 8,000 officers annually through its Scottish Police College.
