Killers

A mash-up of romcom, spy spoof, suburban satire and Ashton Kutcher's abs, Killers , from the director of Legally Blonde , begins in the beautiful grounds of the Hotel du Cap in Antibes. I imagine this is as near to Cannes as Robert Luketic could hope to get and it scuttles off soon after our lead characters (a CIA assassin, played by Kutcher, and a put-upon daddy's girl, played by Heigl) have met in the hotel's lift. The rest is a dim-witted farce as Kutcher tries to leave spying for wedded bliss, only to have a host of fellow suburbanites turn vengeful assassin on him. Wifey discovers his secret, then screams a lot from the passenger seat before learning to use a gun and look kinda hot in a slit skirt. There's loads of this sort of rubbish about at the moment, in Date Night , Did You Hear About the Morgans? and The Joneses . No, I don't know what it means either, but it's worth pointing out.
