Sunday Express sales increase by 12.8%
The Sunday Telegraph and Richard Desmond's Sunday Express reported the biggest month-on-month sales increases among Sunday newspapers in April, as eight titles recorded a boost. The Sunday Express reported a month-on-month sales increase of 12.84% in April to 601,666, up 4.76% year on year, according to the latest Audit Bureau of Circulations figures published on Friday. The Sunday Telegraph saw a 5.73% month-on-month increase to 509,557, although its circulation fell back 0.12% on the same period last year. Publications including the Daily Star Sunday, Sunday Mirror and Mail on Sunday also each recorded month-on-month rises of 3% or greater as the impact of the royal wedding helped boost most titles. News International titles failed to show any rises with News of the World down 2.18% month-on-month and 10.3% year on year. The Sunday Times fell by 1.31% and 10.3% on a monthly and yearly basis respectively. The ABC audit period ran to 1 May and so included the Sunday following the royal wedding.
