ABCs: News of the World only Sunday red-top to increase sales

The News of the World was the only title in the Sunday red-top market to record a sale increase in September, with circulation up 2.77% month on month, according to Audit Bureau of Circulations figures published today. The News of the World saw circulation rise to 2,948,328 copies, but it fell year on year by 5.78%. The only other title to post growth was the Mail on Sunday which managed a 0.26% increase month on month to 1,969,990 copies. However it also recorded a 2.12% year-on-year fall. The Sunday Express was the biggest faller with a 9.49% fall year on year to 560,273 copies. Month on month the fall was 2.54%.
