Leeds today - festival fringe, car crime and hospital superbugs

Good morning Leeds! Hope you're over your World Cup hangover! Today, I'm taking a look at how a Leeds community has healed its wounds five years after members of its community took part in the 7 July 2005 London Bombings. I'm also looking at the success of a Leeds-based social enterprise and preview an improtant community meeting for Kirkstall residents. Here's what's making Leeds tick today Vehicle crime is being driven down in Leeds city centre and surrounding communities, according to the latest figures . An inner city pub in Leeds - dubbed a 'rare survivor' - has been newly approved as a Grade II listed building by the Department for Culture, Media and Sport, says BBC Leeds . Leeds North East MP Fabian Hamilton is launching a fundraising campaign today for a sponsored bike ride from London through France. Fabian will be raising money for Diabetes UK. Hamilton, who suffers from diabetes, will be setting off from London on the morning of Thursday 8 July and will be cycling to Newhaven to catch the ferry to Dieppe on Friday 9 July. From Dieppe, he hopes to reach Paris by the evening of Saturday 10 July and will be riding a total of around 180 miles in three days. Residents in Wellington Hill have celebrated the £250,000 re-opening of their local pre-school - and a gala on Saturday raised cash for Wellington Hill Residents' Association.
