Roberto Mancini charged with improper conduct for David Moyes spat

Manchester City's manager, Roberto Mancini, has been charged with improper conduct by the Football Association after his clash with Everton's David Moyes on Wednesday, the FA has announced. Both managers were sent to the stands after a touchline confrontation. The Italian took exception to Moyes picking up the ball in injury time of City's 2-0 defeat, an action Mancini interpreted as time-wasting, and the pair had to be separated by the fourth official, Howard Webb, before the referee Peter Walton's intervention. • Stuart James: City stumble in race for fourth • Everton demand explanation after Cook row Both were sent to the dressing rooms and, having considered Walton's report, the FA has decided to charge Mancini. The FA has also written to Moyes to remind him of his responsibilities but will not be taking formal disciplinary action. Mancini has until 6 April to respond to the charge. A regulatory commission will hear the charge by or before 19 April. Moyes, however, has said he does not have a problem with the Italian. "It was nothing really, and I've no problem with Roberto," he said. "He was fine immediately afterwards, he apologised walking down the tunnel, and I have no problem at all with him, you just get along with it."
