TV ratings: BBC's Five Daughters wins the 9pm hour with 5m

BBC1's ongoing drama about the Ipswich serial killer won the 9pm hour last night, Monday 26 April, with more than 5 million viewers. The second episode of Five Daughters attracted 5.061 million viewers and a 20.3% audience share, with another 110,000 (0.44%) for the BBC HD simulcast. Ratings for the show held steady compared with Sunday's debut episode . Competition in the 9pm hour included Joanna Lumley's Nile on ITV1 (4.212 million/16.9%, ITV HD 165,000); BBC2's Mary Queen of Charity Shops: Revisited (1.453 million/5.8%); and Channel Five's FlashForward (1.44 million/5.8%). On Channel 4 in the 9pm hour, Blitz Street had 1.408 million (5.7%), with a further 146,000 (0.8%) an hour later on Channel 4 +1. The Madonna episode of Glee on E4 last night attracted 1.422 million (5.7%), making the show once again the most watched multichannel programme of the day. This was slightly down on last week's best so far Glee audience on E4 of 1.596 million (6.5%), although the show had a bigger E4 +1 figure (458,000 against 351,000 last Monday). However, Glee had a larger share of the 16- to 34-year-old audience than any other show in the 9pm hour, including competition on the five main terrestrial networks.
